  Internationally recognized pediatric experts

The National Children's Hospital of the United States was rated as the fifth best children's hospital in the United States by American News and World Report, and won 10 top honors in the fields of cancer, endocrinology, diabetes, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopaedics, pulmonary medicine and pulmonary surgery.

The expert nursing of the hospital has also earned the hospital the title of Magnetic Hospital, which can only be obtained by hospitals that demonstrate the highest standards of care and patient treatment. Only 7% of hospitals in the United States receive this title, which proves that hospitals are one of the top medical institutions.

The hospital is one of the only 12 pediatric hospitals in the United States that have been certified by the American College of Surgeons for first level surgery. This honor is only awarded to surgical centers that can improve surgical quality, prevent complications, reduce costs, and save lives.

  Pioneering research and technology

The hospital is renowned worldwide for pioneering new therapies and treatment methods at the Children's Institute (CNRI), which specializes in translational and clinical research in cancer, immunology, genetic medicine, and neuroscience. In addition to these specialized research centers, the Sheikh Zayed Pediatric Surgery Innovation Institute (SZI) was established in 2010, with the mission of making pediatric surgery more precise, less traumatic, and painless.

  Family centered care

The hospital's treatment team is compassionate, collaborating with patients and their families to cope with ordinary and complex medical challenges, making children the core of the hospital's work. When a child is diagnosed with a disease, the hospital's goal is to find the best treatment method for the child and their family. The hospital provides various assistance services for family members, from social workers to pastoralists, to meet their various needs.

In addition to providing first-class medical services, the hospital also provides various services for the emotional health of children, including age-appropriate gaming experiences, breathing fresh air in the healing garden, and music and art therapy. It also helps children celebrate important milestones such as birthdays, treatment completion, and discharge home.

  More information

  1. Clinical training program

  (Resident doctor or researcher)

Clinical training programs for medical graduates, such as pediatric residents and researchers.

  2. Surgical/Medical Scholar Program

The National Children's Hospital provides a limited number of positions annually in the International Surgical/Medical Scholar Program, designed specifically for practicing doctors who want to improve their professional skills. This program is currently only applicable to interns in colorectal surgery. Applicants can include attending physicians, researchers, or resident physicians in general surgery, pediatric surgery, urology, or gynecology (who have completed at least 2 years of residency internship).

  3. Research Scholar Visit Plan

① The research scholar program requires a predetermined supervisor/supervisor for the research scholar. They may spend 2 to 6 weeks observing ongoing research projects. This includes various steps in the research process, such as patient recruitment, data collection, and analysis. Researchers do not have direct contact with patients or assume patient care responsibilities, but can observe patient care where applicable International research scholars who plan to participate in established research projects, such as the GW International Medical Graduate Researcher Program, will have the opportunity to conduct more in-depth research with an extended experience of more than 6 weeks targeting final products such as posters, abstracts, or publications.

  4. Clinical Observation Plan

The clinical observation program is a 2-6 week educational experience where visitors can track patients while they are being cared for by clinical doctors or clinical nursing teams in outpatient, inpatient, or mixed settings. Observers will not have direct patient contact or clinical nursing responsibilities, but will learn through observing the patient's medical history, physical examination, diagnostic discussions, and nursing and treatment plans. Visitors will participate in teaching rounds and various educational conferences. The time will vary for each department. Observers have the opportunity to learn more about current departmental research projects. In addition, there is still time for self-directed learning, and visitors can review relevant clinical conditions and treatment plans. With the acquired clinical knowledge, these experiences will familiarize observers with the healthcare system in the United States. 5. Fourth grade international medical students who participate in their fourth (or final) year of medical training and are interested in applying for elective rotation at the National Children's Hospital.
