UCLA International Physician Education Program

The mission of the UCLA David Geffen Medical School's medical education program is to cultivate outstanding talents in the fields of clinical practice, teaching, research, and public service, and then expand the UCLA Medical Center's education and training program to the global medical community

The physician education program at UCLA Medical Center includes:

Observation Plan

Plan highlights:

• Immersion in the clinical plan of UCLA Medical Center and close observation of research and educational activities

• Conduct cutting-edge technology training

• Access to clinical, translational, and basic scientific research in each department and throughout the institution

• Cooperate with the faculty and staff of UCLA Medical Center

The departments providing observation include: anesthesiology, cardiology, emergency medicine, general surgery, head and neck surgery, hematology oncology, neurology, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, pathology, pediatrics, radiation oncology, etc

Planned duration: one to three months

Certificate: Certificate can be obtained after completion of the plan

Simulation Training Plan

Plan highlights:

• Tailored training plans

• Multi disciplinary training

• Problem based learning

• Web based interaction module

• Participate in consultation on medical scenarios

• Participate in consultation on surgical techniques

• Leadership development plan

• Participate in operational management consulting

• Collaboration with Nursing College, Dental College, and UCLA Medical Center has made it an interdisciplinary training center

Senior Management Plan

Plan highlights:

• Practical learning courses hosted by the leadership of UCLA Medical Center

• Five different thematic areas: people, service, quality, operations, and finance/strategy

• Have the opportunity to discuss potential solutions with the leadership of UCLA Medical Center

• Dedicated planning representatives to assist with your itinerary and planning logistics
