Introduction
Clinical Simulation Medical Center STRATUS
★ The clinical skill training center with the highest system level;
★ A condensed version of the hospital general practice system;
★ The best entry point for high-level medical exchanges and cooperation between China and the United States;
★ Strong teaching faculty, with 50 Harvard professors responsible for the center's training, education, and research;
★ Advanced scientific research capabilities, published the first scientific research paper based on clinical skills training in the New England Journal of Medicine;
★ Breakthrough concept: Cooperate with NASA to build a simulation space capsule at the center to provide simulation training for astronauts in emergency situations in space.
II. Project Overview
This course is designed specifically for clinicians interested in training and teaching in the use of simulated medicine. By combining structured teaching, independent reading, guided practice, and experimental learning, physicians can use simulation teaching methods to gain in-depth understanding of relevant design and implementation through this project. During the course of learning, students need to design simulation projects based on their chosen topics. Disaster medicine students are required to choose research topics that are similar to their field of study.
The course includes two main elements:
Structural teaching
During the two week rotating course, students can receive detailed guidance from experts from the STRATUS Academy on the core topic of simulated medicine. In addition, the college will also provide reading materials and cases related to disaster medicine. These topics include, but are not limited to:
Adult Learning Theory
Clinical scenario design
Simulate a patient
Review of simulated medical experience
Learner Assessment
Simulated Medical Research
Training on improving team collaboration and communication
Immersion experience
Students will be able to fully experience the research atmosphere of STRATUS and work closely with simulation colleges and personnel to obtain more relevant content on simulation medicine
Students will participate in and observe various ongoing research projects at STRATUS, and have the opportunity to ask questions to college staff
Before the end of the second week of the course, each student is required to present their research findings based on the knowledge acquired during STRATUS and the related content of simulated disaster medicine under the guidance of the college. The presentation should include training needs, learning objectives, and results, designed simulation scenarios, practical situations, and a summary of the entire case.
assessment
Upon completion of this course, STRATUS Academy will submit a written evaluation report on student performance. Participants also need to submit experience feedback during the course to ensure long-term quality improvement of the course.
