Experts from Dana Faber Hospital affiliated to Harvard Medical School visited Jiangsu Provincial Hospital

Dana Faber Hospital, affiliated to Harvard Medical School, was established in 1947. It is a cancer specialist affiliated hospital of Harvard Medical School in the United States, and a comprehensive cancer treatment center designated by the United States federal government. It has produced a Nobel Prize winner in medicine. It is a world leader in clinical aspects such as cancer gene targeting therapy, cancer immunotherapy, cancer endocrine therapy, cancer biological therapy, and cancer vaccine. Dana Faber Hospital affiliated to Harvard Medical School leads the United States in the treatment of adult tumors; The treatment of childhood tumors has ranked first in the United States over the years.

On January 10th, David C. Read, Vice President of Dana Faber Hospital affiliated to Harvard University Medical School in the United States, accompanied by EVO medical staff, held academic exchanges with Wuxi People's Hospital and the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University, and presented wonderful lectures. The two sides met in a friendly atmosphere, which established the beginning of friendly cooperation.

On the morning of that day, a half day academic exchange was held in the conference room of the administrative building of Wuxi People's Hospital. Wu Bing, Vice President of Wuxi People's Hospital, warmly welcomed the Vice President of Read from afar, relevant personnel from the Education Department, Scientific Research Department, and Cancer Department to accompany and receive. Both sides made a detailed introduction to their respective hospitals and further discussed talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation. Vice President Read gave a wonderful academic lecture: "Overview of a Top Rated U.S. Cancer Center Introduction to Scientific Research Cooperation".

At the end of the meeting, Vice President Wu Bing, on behalf of Wuxi People's Hospital, exchanged souvenirs and took a group photo with Vice President Read.

In the afternoon of that day, Vice President Read came to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University to give a lecture. Before the meeting, Vice President Harvey Chao warmly received and led Vice President Read to visit the pancreatic center.

The lecture was held in the Grand Auditorium of the Sajiawan Hospital District, and staff from functional departments and some clinical departments listened to the lecture on site. Vice President Read's lecture topic is "Current Topics&Trends In U.S. Academic Teaching Hospitals: Current Topics and Development Trends.". He elaborated on his experiences and perspectives for everyone from two aspects: first, improving the patient's experience and considering the improvement of medical conditions from the patient's perspective. For example, new patients can make phone appointments from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to carefully listen to the consultation and opinions of patients and their families, and establish a strong relationship with patients through good first visit services. The second is to improve the experience of doctors, increase nurses, doctor assistants, social workers, etc. to reduce the workload of doctors, and standardize diagnosis and treatment methods through clinical pathways, ultimately achieving the goal of reducing doctors' job burnout.
