Hospital Introduction

Berlin Charlotte Hospital is a large hospital located in Berlin, Germany, and is also one of the largest teaching hospitals in Europe. In 2003, the Humboldt University of Berlin and the Medical School of the Free University of Berlin merged into the current Charit é - University ä tsmedizin Berlin, which is now a member of the Berlin University Alliance. Overall, there are 13 centers focused on patient care, while the rest are dedicated to research and teaching

Charit Medical College has 4 campuses, 17 Charit é centers, approximately 100 clinics and research institutes, and is one of the largest employers in the healthcare sector in Berlin. The entire group has 19400 employees, 16391 Charit é employees, including 4707 nursing personnel, 4693 science and medical personnel, 298 professors, and 1075 administrative personnel

Hospital Ranking

Berlin's Charlotte Medical College is one of the research oriented medical institutions in Germany, affiliated to the Collaborative Research Centers (CRC) of the German Science Foundation. From 2012 to 2017, Charlotte Hospital was selected by Focus Magazine as the best hospital in the German speaking region

In the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Discipline Ranking, Berlin's Charlotte University ranked first in Germany in the field of "clinical and health": for the first time among 28 participating German universities, it reached first place. It ranks 32nd out of 925 participating universities worldwide. The rankings of THE are considered internationally to be one of the most influential university comparisons

Charit é received the "ASPIRE Curriculum Development Excellence Award", which was awarded by the European Association for Medical Education (AMEE). It recognizes the pioneering and innovative concepts of the University of Charlotte Medical Demonstration Program

The research team pays special attention to the interface between basic research and patient centered research, seeking interdisciplinary cooperation with national and international partners. Its research areas include: research priorities, central institutions, projects, Charit é clinical research, excellence strategies, and research projects covered by ERC grants. For these projects, Charit é provides a range of ancillary services, such as external financial support, support for young research institutes, infrastructure support, research integration offices, clinical research facilities, technology transfer, contract signing, international research, and career development

Given the increasing complexity of research issues today, interdisciplinary and international cooperation is often required to facilitate research. Charit é carries out extensive cooperative projects, especially promoting the mutual exchange of basic biomedical research, clinical research, and clinical application results.
