Seattle Children's Hospital is committed to meeting the unique physiological, emotional, and developmental needs of infants, adolescents, and young people. The Seattle Children's Hospital Research Institute has always been at the forefront of pediatric medical research. The Institute has nine major medical centers and enjoys an international reputation for its outstanding achievements in the fields of cancer, genetics, immunology, pathology, infectious diseases, injury prevention, and bioethics. The Institute is also one of the top five pediatric medical research centers funded by the National Institutes of Health.
In exploring ways to cure childhood diseases, the Institute works closely with the Seattle Children's Hospital and the Seattle Children's Hospital Foundation to promote the transformation of research findings into clinical practice.
Cancer and Blood Disease Center: The Cancer and Blood Disease Center at Seattle Children's Hospital can treat a variety of pediatric blood diseases and cancers, including a variety of rare and complex related diseases.
Department of Nephrology:
Nephrology can diagnose and treat various kidney diseases. Seattle Children's Hospital is a leader in the United States in treating infants, children, and adolescents with kidney diseases, including the most complex kidney diseases. The department has a transplant project and the only dialysis ward in the region that only targets infants, children, and adolescents. All projects in the Department of Nephrology at Seattle Children's Hospital are focused on meeting the special needs of developing children with kidney disease.
