　　Conference background

　　As representatives of new systems, new dynamics and new directions, emerging technologies such as 5G, AI, cloud, big data, and the Internet are promoting multi-dimensional transformation and reform of government, industry, and so on. Since the outbreak of the global COVID-19 epidemic, these emerging technologies have empowered smart hospitals and helped hospitals fight viruses. Viruses may persist for a long time, and cloud conferencing, medical clouds, and technology clouds are becoming new trends. The assistance of 5G has also made cloud platforms more and more convenient. It is important to layout cloud platforms in advance. Currently, how to use the medical cloud platform to hold academic conferences, remote consultations, scientific research, international cooperation, and how to do a good job in hospital construction after disasters have become topics of common concern.

　　On July 24th, the "International Conference on Cloud Platforms for Medical Development in the Post Epidemic Period" jointly organized by the China Medical and Health Development Foundation and Jiangsu Aiwo Medical Co., Ltd. successfully concluded. This meeting focused on the application of new technologies such as 5G, AI, cloud, big data, and the Internet in the medical field. Through academic lectures, round table forums, and other forms, we exchanged epidemic prevention achievements, discussed future development trends, and achieved fruitful results. Gao Li, the representative of the World Health Organization in China, Zhong Nanshan, an academician of the CAE Member and a professor of Guangzhou Medical University, delivered a speech and spoke highly of the convening of the meeting.

　　At the meeting, many guests conducted in-depth exchanges around the transformation and innovation opportunities of the medical industry in the post epidemic era. Under the auspices of President Zhao Jun of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital, the meeting opened.

　　　　In his speech, Mr. Gao Li, the representative of the World Health Organization in China, affirmed China's contribution to other countries in the prevention and control of this epidemic, and strongly hoped that countries would strengthen cooperation and jointly build a responsible and resilient health system. Promote international public health undertakings and ensure the health and safety of all mankind.

　　During the COVID-19 in 2020, Academician Zhong Nanshan, who served as the leader of the high-level expert group of the National Health Commission and the leader of the expert group of the joint prevention and control mechanism of COVID-19 epidemic, also addressed the meeting. Academician Zhong said that epidemic prevention and control is still a long-term work, and the medical prevention and control model is also constantly developing. The emergence of emerging technologies such as big data and AI is also changing the operational mode of society and government. Currently, these emerging technologies have brought great help in his team's research, making data identification and diagnosis more accurate and convenient.

　　In his speech, Ni Qian, Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, shared the development of the biomedical industry in Suzhou Industrial Park, hoping to accelerate the development of the health industry in the park by accelerating the promotion of new technologies to empower the medical industry, and to escort the construction of smart medicine.

　　As the representative of the host of this conference, Ms. Wang Dan, the chairman of the China Medical and Health Development Foundation, delivered a speech expressing her expectations for building a modern disease prevention and control system and ensuring national health and sustainable development of society.

　　In his speech, Secretary Tang Jinhai of Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital fully affirmed the role of big data and new technologies, and mentioned the application and assistance of these technologies in provincial medical work in recent years.

　　Academician William Hsiao, an academician of the American Academy of Sciences, professor of economics at Harvard University's School of Public Health, delivered a speech on the topic "Trends in the Global Health Care System in the Post Epidemic Era.". From a global perspective and a scientific attitude, the importance of strengthening the construction of the public health system is illustrated on the basis of national health reform and development.

　　At this meeting, Dr. Gregg L. Semenza, a winner of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology and a professor at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, was invited. Dr. Semenza is one of the leading researchers studying the molecular mechanisms of oxygen regulation today. He led the field and revealed how cells adapt to changes in oxygen levels. At the conference, Dr. Semenza shared the theme of "Hypoxia Inducing Factors in Physiology and Medicine".

　　Professor Andrew R Watson, President of the American Telemedicine Association, shared the theme of "The Development of Telemedicine at UPMC". Introduced the development and changes of telemedicine, and shared issues such as how to use cloud based medical platforms in the context of the epidemic.

　　Tan Weiliang, Director of the Suzhou Municipal Health Commission and Secretary of the Party Committee, delivered a keynote speech on "What Should the Health Commission Do in the 5G Era?", introducing what measures the Suzhou Health Commission has taken to benefit people's health through 5G technology in the epidemic prevention and control.

Facing the future, actively embracing emerging technologies and capabilities such as 5G and artificial intelligence, promoting the normalization, orderly and healthy operation of Internet medicine and intelligent medicine, and establishing an industry standard and specification system have become everyone's consensus.
